Joy of harvest
The Conghua district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, celebrated the Farmers' Harvest Festival on Sept 23.
With a series of activities held both online and offline, the celebration event included an onsite opening ceremony, special programs from the district's five townships and three subdistricts, harvest product promotions and an online contest on legal knowledge. The events aim to showcase Conghua's achievements in its explorations to become a demonstration zone of rural revitalization in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
All the eight townships-level regions carried out various celebration activities with local characteristics. Coupled with performance shows of traditional culture and work award ceremonies, the joy of harvest was spread all over Conghua.
To better illustrate plans to fully propel rural revitalization in Conghua, secretary of the CPC Conghua district committee as well as the Party secretaries of its eight township-level regions introduced specific policies and measures to benefit farmers and boost agriculture through short videos.
Conghua's six signature dishes were a highlight at this harvest celebration. The delicacies reflect Conghua's outstanding eco-environment, which also nurtures unique tourism resources. Conghua's tourism competitiveness has topped all 67 county-level regions in Guangdong for nine consecutive years from 2011 to 2019. With its rich and unique ecotourism resources, it is a super-large suburban ecological agritourism destination in China.
