Conghua mulberries in harvest
The golden autumn in Conghua district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, is yielding a good harvest of mulberries in Liangping village in Liangkou town.
At a 30-mu (2 hectares) mulberry orchard, the red and black berries are hanging from branches, giving off a tempting fragrance to attract tourists.
Mulberries have a long harvesting period, starting now through May next year, although their taste varies during different periods - sweet in the early stage and turning a bit sour later.
Mulberries are rich in nutrients, including antioxidants. Conghua is exploring a "mulberries+ experience agriculture" development model as part of its efforts to realize rural revitalization.
