Camellia Town
Launched in 2017, Apoliu Camellia Town is located in the Apoliu Natural Village of Jincun Administrative Village of Liangkou Town – a populated village at the highest latitude in Guangzhou and its neighboring region.
Following the goal of constructing "one river and eleven districts", the Camellia Town offers several parks: Yunnan Camellia Park, Tea Park, Red Camellia Park, Camellia Sasanqua Park, Fragrant Camellia Park, Rare Camellia Park, Four Season Camellia Park, Camellia Japonica Park, Golden Camellia Park, Global Camellia Friendship Park, and Farming Culture Park.
In addition to a large plantation of camellias, the town also specializes in development, research and admiration of auxiliary plants, such as Magnolia denudate, Rhododendron simsii, and Magnolia liliiflora.
Thanks to high latitude and great diurnal temperature difference, the town is an ideal location for growing flowers such as camellias. It offers a total of 330 mu(220,000 square meters) of more than 600 camellia species. The best season to enjoy flowers is November to April. An observatory in the village is also a well-known spot for star-gazing.
