The Chinese mustard in Lyutian town of Conghua district in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, is in season now.

As the signature product of Xinlian village in Lyutian town, Chinese mustard has been grown for about four decades in the village.

The village is located in a hilly area surrounded by forest. With abundant sunshine and large temperature differences between day and night, the Chinese mustard is able to grow well. Now that it's harvest time, villagers start picking it early in the morning to ensure its freshness.

Since Lyutian's Chinese mustard is getting more popular nowadays, growing and selling the plant has turned from individual management to cooperative management.

In January 2021, a cooperative was established in the village to guide and manage the growth and sales of Chinese mustard. Efforts were spent on branding and expanding sales channels. At present, the daily sales of Chinese mustard on e-commerce platforms are around 200 packages, or a total of 500 kilograms.
