The warm winter in Luodong Craftsman Town in Conghua district of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, is witnessing the harvest of papayas, which are now ready for pickup.

At the papaya plantation, green and yellow papayas are hanging from papaya trees. According to the manager, these 2,000 papaya trees were planted last April. Now they're bearing fruit. The harvest season will last until next April.

The plantation is also a scientific research base of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Guangzhou Branch (CASGB). With regular technical guidance from CASGB experts, the papayas are rich in selenium, organic and tasty.

The flourishing of Luodong Craftsman Town is bringing more tourists, which poses a good opportunity for locals to develop featured plantation business to boost incomes and rural revitalization.
