Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL), a state-owned enterprise headquartered in Guangzhou, signed a lychee purchase contract with the Conghua district government worth 1.7 million yuan ($263,000) on June 26. 

It is part of the company’s efforts to boost rural revitalization in Conghua, by helping the development of the lychee industry in Conghua. 

GPHL has contributed to the national poverty alleviation campaign by helping disadvantaged areas build up industries with local characteristics. “Conghua lychee is a golden 'name card' of fruits in South China, " said Li Chuyuan, chairman of GPHL, added that helping the sales of Conghua lychees is a concrete action which helps both the farmers here and facilitates rural revitalization.

In addition to purchasing fresh lychees, GPHL has also conducted surveys regarding the lychee business in Conghua. By using its experience in product development and poverty alleviation, GPHL will research and explore more lychee sales channels, such as healthy processed lychee products, to enhance economic profits.
