The Sanhua plum is the signature fruit of Guifeng, with a total planting area over 5,000 mu (333 hectares) and an annual output of around 1.5 million kilograms. The plum boasts rich trace elements, a crisp taste and pleasant fragrance. It is always a hot item among purchasing vendors during its harvest time in May and June each year.

Guifeng tea is another signature product. With a planting history dating back over 200 years, almost every household in the village grows Guifeng tea. The village’s high cloud coverage, the large temperature gap between day and night, and special soil properties all contribute to the premium quality of the tea.

Early field research in Guifeng revealed the local environment is suitable for the growth of Dendrobium, a highly-profitable flower.

In 2012, the village started growing Dendrobiums, which boosted local employment and incomes.

The superior natural environment also attracted floral enterprises. According to them, the plants grown here have better quality than those grown elsewhere under the same conditions. The settlement of the floral enterprises greatly stimulated local economic growth and employment.

Its tissue culture workshop has an annual output of over 6 million moth orchid sprouts. Many local residents started working for these floral enterprises and can enjoy working and taking care of their families at the same time.
