Located at the north of Aotou town in Conghua district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, Longju village has proactively implemented the national strategy of rural revitalization and made solid achievements over the years.

The village is about 7.5 square kilometers in size and is next to highways G106 and G355.

Consisting of two sub-branches and seven groups, the Longju village Party branch attaches great importance to Party building. Regular learning, promotion and meetings are carried out, and new members are absorbed to improve the Party branch's cohesiveness and creativity.

Party members have led in improving the living environment by cleaning up the sanitary blind spots and organizing training on garbage sorting. After the outbreak of COVID-19, working teams made up by Party members were set up to work around the clock and safeguard people’s lives. Patrol teams have also been established to work on fire prevention.

With concerted efforts from all villagers, Longju village has made significant progress in infrastructure upgrading.

The muddy village road has been paved with cement and extended as well. Over 18 kilometers of road with lamps now exists throughout the village, with width expanded to 5 meters from 3.5 meters. Plans have been made to upgrade the cement road to asphalt road in the near future.

Entertainment facilities such as a basketball court, a sports park and a recreational center for the elderly have been built to enrich villagers' lives.

Public welfare events such as lion dance teams and ceremonies to pay respect to the elderly have been organized to cherish Chinese culture and traditions. Funds have also been established to sponsor outstanding students and those from families with difficulties.

Attracting businesses

Thanks to the transportation advantages, Longju became an ideal candidate for manufacturing businesses.

On Dec 21, 2020, a smart home appliance manufacturing base started operation. Occupying 280 mu (18.67 hectares) of land, the base has 17 workshops covering nine product series with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($232.42 million). Another biotechnology company engaged in the production and sale of layer chickens and eggs located one of its main ranches in Longju village with a total planned investment of 250 million yuan and land occupancy of 500 mu.

The settlement of major businesses has been well received by local villagers as it brings employment and opportunities to increase their income. Many villagers who used to work outside of town have now returned to a much-preferred style of working close to home.
