Conghua aviation base to be fully functional
The Dayu Aviation Base in Conghua district of Guangzhou, the capital city of South China's Guangdong province, is now in trial operation and expects to be fully operational sometime this year.
Located in Liangkou town, the 160,000-square meters base aims to create a comprehensive aviation education base integrating general aviation services such as flight training, medical aid, aerial photography and aerial surveys and inspections.
The flight training base and the apron have been put in use, while some facilities are still under construction. The base received its first guests on July 15 when a summer study tour composed of about 50 children visited the base.
The launch ceremony of the base's first civilian UAV pilot training session – a 23-day course, was held on July 16. The program includes training of basic skills in UAV operation and aims to help expand the young trainees' employment channels.
Besides hosting a full series of aviator training and certification courses, the base will also organize aviation related events such as aviation maker competitions and young aviator selections, striving to become an aviation base with integrated functions in training and certification, sports competitions, and leisure and sightseeing.
