A livestreaming show for the launch of the rice paddy harvest season was held on July 12 at AIRice Town, with the aim of spreading the joy of this year's harvest.

Located in in Guangzhou's Conghua district, in South China's Guangdong province, AIRice Town, an agricultural park, grows rice using ecological techniques and the latest agricultural technologies.

On the show, a basic outline of the AIRice Town and the related technologies was given. A bioscientist of the State Key Laboratory of Sun Yat-sen University, introduced the ecologically-friendly planting technologies as well.
According to Chen Dandan, vice-president of the AIRice Group, the paddy rice planting area in AIRice Town is over 1,000 mu (67 hectares) this year. The estimated yield per mu is over 350 kilograms, a more than 10 percent increase from previous years. The harvesting started on July 12. Thanks to mechanized harvesting technologies, the total harvest time will be just five to six days.
Other than AIRice Town, other paddy rice fields in the district have started to ripen as well. The planting area of early season rice in the district this year is 89,320 mu, 4,436 mu more than last year. The estimated yield this year is 31,700 tons.
