Several massive projects Conghua District recently inked contracts for are expected to step up the district's high-quality development.

During the Conghua session of the 2021 Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference held on March 30, the district secured 17 major projects with a total investment of 60.7 billion yuan ($9.35 billion), involving biological medicine, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, business service and cultural tourism.

Hosted by the district government, the Conghua event witnessed the presence of representatives from more than 70 enterprises, chambers of commerce and banks.

A step to internationalization

Among these projects, Kingold Group will invest 25 billion yuan in building a center for international exchange which will gather together enterprise headquarters, organizations, business associations and high-end think tanks focusing on eight functional fields such as ecological demonstration, industrial development as well as health and leisure.

The center will include five industrial platforms for conferences, international education, health care, intelligent agriculture and high-end shopping, and is expected to enhance Guangzhou city and Conghua district's capacity for carrying out international meetings, education, health care and related exchanges.

Faster development of biopharmaceutical cluster

A number of biopharmaceutical projects will settle down in Conghua, which will further improve the industrial chain and assist Conghua's development into a highland for the industry.

The Yuanzhi state-level GBA innovative platform for southern medicine will become a key channel of gathering high-end resources, talents and production capacity of Guangzhou's health care industry. It will be built into a comprehensive Chinese medicine industrial chain project covering the six industrial sectors of planting, circulation, production, service, education and tourism.

Artificial intelligence and digital economy

An electronic sports IUR (Industry-University-Research) town, the first of its kind in the Great Bay Area, will settle down in Conghua.

The town will be operated by Supergen, China's first electronic sports company with integrated industrial chain resources and relevant operational experience so far. The project will gather industrial incubation, industrial investment, electronic sports organizations and e-sports enterprise headquarters to integrate education, training, and production.

Other projects include a digital arts creative park and a Pan-Zhejiang industrial park. The former is to build an online and offline platform for digital and creative arts. The latter will realize transformation of industrial design results, and create service platforms for intelligent packing equipment, smart balance vehicles, and intelligent digitization.

Accelerate the development of customization industry

The Guangdong Custom Home Association is going to work with Der, Nanxing Machinery, Kefan Smart Home and Beihui Decoration to build a smart customized home furnishing industrial park in Conghua, which will be an IUR intelligent manufacturing demonstration park that integrates industrial tourism experience and digital, networked and intelligent technological application.

The industrial park aims to help Conghua become a part of the "global customization capital" of Guangzhou.
