A presentation on farming with mechanical agricultural tools was held online and on-site in Guangzhou's Conghua district on March 16. A number of advanced planting machines and technologies were on display for local farmers.

According to an executive with Conghua district's agricultural mechanization management center, with the help of planting machines, drone seeding and other equipment, production efficiency and agricultural benefits are both increasing. 

"In the past, by hand, a person could only complete 0.07 hectare of planting work a day; now through mechanized planting, at least 3.33 hectares of planting work can be completed a day." he said.

In recent years, Conghua district has been promoting mechanical planting technology in Longtang village, Xitang village and many other villages and farms.

Mechanical planting technology has given these villages a good harvest. Next, the district will boost smart and unmanned agricultural planting in order to further increase planting efficiency and provide powerful support to agriculture's green development.

Spring ploughing is now underway. Conghua district is expected to plant 13,733 hectares of crops this year.
