Conghua farm recognized for efforts on veterinary antibiotics decrement

A Conghua-based farm was recently included in the national list of the third group of qualified farms for the piloting of veterinary antibiotics decrement, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA).

Santianxian Animal Husbandry Co. Ltd., the farm is the second in Conghua district that was recognized by the MARA on the work of veterinary antibiotics decrement.

Registered in Aotou town of Conghua in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, Santianxian is a subsidiary of a national-leading agricultural enterprise Guangdong Yihao Foodstuff Co. Ltd. It is mainly engaged with the production and sales of layer chickens and eggs, boasting a full industrial chain spanning breeding, processing, sci-tech innovation research and development.

The Santianxian breeding base covers an area of 200 mu (13.33 hectares) with a present breeding capacity of 600,000 chickens and 400,000 more to be expected, annually producing 20,000 tons of fresh eggs. The eggs are mostly sold to supermarkets in the Pearl River Delta region.

To ensure safety and premium quality of the egg products, the base adopts fully automated henhouse breeding equipment with automation on environmental control, feeding, fecal cleaning and egg collection and sorting. Disinfection facilities are provided in the egg packaging processing room. The most advanced egg separating machines are used to detect and divide different procedures for dirty eggs, broken eggs, crack detection, sterilization and weighing.

Next, Conghua will further implement measures on antibiotics decrement, strive to minimize the potential harm caused by the abuse of antibiotics and ensure the quality and safety of livestock and poultry products of Conghua.
