8 Conghua villages awarded provincial-level forest villages

Eight villages in Conghua district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, were recognized as "forest villages", according to a recent release from the Forestry Administration of Guangdong.

A forest village refers to an ecologically livable village with well preserved natural ecological features, prominent local pastoral characteristics, strong forest atmosphere, significant forest function benefits, good development of forest-related industries, and a clean living environment with effective protection and management.

Anshan village in Lyutian town

Located in the south of Lyutian town, Anshan village has an advantage in its superior natural resources and has developed fruit planting and horse-related planting industries for the common prosperity of villagers. The village boasts a clean living environment, beautiful ecology and comprehensive public service facilities. 

The Xiangmi Mountain orchard in the village is famous for its premium quality fruits and has developed a business model covering fruit processing, product R&D and sales, agritourism and leisure tourism. 

Tangtian village in Lyutian town

Availing to its nice ecology, Tangtian village has developed agritourism featuring hiking, flower appreciation, parent-child tours and farming experiences. 

Figs are a signature fruit for the village. The planting area of figs in the village is over 100 mu (6.67 hectares). The fiig picking is available until end of December this year. Fig planting not only helps with local employment, but also brings tourists and contributes to local rural revitalization. 

Gaofeng village in Jiangpu subdistrict

Located in the northeast of Jiangpu subdistrict, Gaofeng village boasts superior ecological resources, including forests and green land.

Shatang oranges are the signature product of the village. With a planting area of over 1,000 mu, the oranges bring greenness, as well as employment, to local villagers. 

Feng'er village in Jiangpu subdistrict

Feng'er village is about 10 kilometers away from downtown Conghua. Since 2018, the village has made great efforts to improve its living environment and has now become a hot spot for tourists for its beautiful looks.

Xihe village in Chengjiao subdistrict

Located at the core of the modern agriculture demonstration park co-built by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Guangdong province, Xihe village is the only village from Guangzhou that was included in the list of 2020 beautiful leisure villages in China.

The floral industry is the signature of the village. Over 300 flower varieties are blooming here, making it an attraction for tourists from the Pearl Delta region. 

Tangwei village in Liangkou town

The landmark of Tangwei village is the Eco-design Town, which three years ago was a still a farmers' market. The town is now a world-class conference center featuring newly built asphalt pavement and greening, and the main hall for the World Eco-Design Conference held in 2018. The living environment and conditions of Tangwei villagers have gone through face-changing development. 

Getang village in Taiping town

After working on improving the living environment and infrastructure construction over the past few years, Getang village has witnessed significant progress in villagers' living conditions and village appearance.

The Southern Medicine Town is partly located in Getang village. With exceptional advantages in resources such as red tourism, natural ecology, ancient villages and modern agriculture, the town has developed an integrated industry system, including Chinese medicine herb breeding, science popularization and education and agritourism. 

Lutian village in Aotou town

Located in the east of Aotou town, Lutian village has a household registered population of 2,350. The village's signature product is rose-scented oranges. which are estimated to bring an annual revenue of 1.5 billion yuan ($ 232. 62 million) to the village and also drive the healthy development of tertiary industries in the area.
