Village in Conghua become a national key rural tourism village

Xihe village in Conghua district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, has been included in the third group of national key villages for, according to a recent release from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It is the only village from Guangzhou that is on the list. 

Over the recent years, Xihe has been focusing on the development of rural tourism based on its floral industry.

It has conducted overall planning, construction and management. A culture and tourism association was established to integrate its resources. The village has also set up an entrepreneurship workforce to help villagers start their own businesses, such as farm restaurants, grocery stores and guesthouses, so as to increase their income. 

At present, Xihe has two national 3A-level tourist spots, four boutique guesthouses and two study tour bases and has formed a rural tourism industrial pattern integrating floral appreciation, agricultural sightseeing, fruit picking, boutique accommodation, leisure and study tours. 

The village has won multiple honors at both national and provincial levels in rural construction and played a demonstrative role in rural revitalization. 

Guangzhou Floral Research Center

As a science popularization and education base, the center carries out lectures and courses on flowers that feature new flower variety exploration, flower cultivation experience, flower planting and growing knowledge, potted-flower production, flower arrangement, and water planting and succulent creative potting to meet different needs from the public. 

Northern Latitude 23°8′ Forest Camp

Based on study tours and parent-child camping, the camp serves as a comprehensive platform integrating natural science, farming experience and parent-child tourism featuring the village's floral industry. The camp is set up on 673 mu (45 hectares) of land with enchanting rural scenery composed of woods, fields, fishponds and streams.
