Liu Zonghui, head of Conghua district in Guangzhou, the capital of South China's Guangdong province, visited quarantine hotels and hospital as well as demonstration zone project site to inspect epidemic control and fire, disaster and accident prevention on Aug 1.  

Liu emphasized following the instructions from the central leadership on the above work to safeguard people's lives and properties, and city operation safety. He urged all-around upgrading of the prevention and control measures , focusing on control of inbound persons and crowds from key areas, strengthening control over locations such as tourist spots, hotels, restaurants and markets. He also called for reducing cross-provincial transportation and public gathering activities and achieving herd immunity by speeding up vaccination work among the elderly and teenagers.

Regarding work safety and disaster prevention, he urged full awareness and preparation for emergency response and conducting full troubleshooting on key industries and in key areas, especially on the potential risks in the metro system on flood control, to make sure no major disasters occur.

District officials Wang Jianhong and Wang Zhifeng accompanied Liu during the inspection.
