Women's empowerment to boost rural revitalization
Guangzhou of Guangdong province recently held a women's empowerment salon in Conghua district in a bid to achieve high-quality development of rural revitalization.
Female representatives from Conghua shared entrepreneurial stories at the salon. Deng Difang started growing "rose oranges" after she returned from studying overseas. By working with the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences and South China Agricultural University, she has been striving to develop a sci-tech-driven agricultural business over the past six years.
Wu Xiaoli, a university graduate, shared her stories about the eco-tourism industry, including opening restaurants and guesthouses, growing characteristic agricultural products and organizing charity projects.
Organized by the Guangzhou Women's Federation, the women's empowerment event series combine actual experience with rural tourism and resource sharing and leverage new media for business promotion, aiming to mobilize multiple social forces to help local female entrepreneurs.
The Conghua Women's Federation has been encouraging female entrepreneurship to help women find employment. Projects were carried out in capacity-building and financing that have employed over 6,800 women.
