Tianhe leverages cultural tourism to drive consumption

During the New Year period, Tianhe district in Guangzhou organized a range of cultural and commercial activities to stimulate urban consumption.

At the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center, G.E.M.'s concert attracted tens of thousands of attendees, boosting nearby hotel bookings and dining traffic. In 2026, Tianhe plans to host 53 large-scale concerts, featuring performances by many well-known artists.

Other activities, including lion dance competitions at Huacheng Square and the Guangzhou Haixinsha Carnival, offered diverse cultural experiences. Orchestral performances were also held in local theaters during the holiday period.

Upcoming Spring Festival events, including traditional flower markets and heritage fairs, are set to further drive seasonal consumption.
