On the evening of Nov 16, the 2025 Guangzhou International Light Festival commenced. This year's festival will run until Nov 26, with the main venue located along the city's new central axis. 

The light installations are mainly arranged along the main venue on the new central axis, including Huacheng Square, Haixinsha Asian Games Park, the Canton Tower, the East Tower, the West Tower, and both sides of the Pearl River. There's also a secondary venue located in Huangpu district.

During the opening ceremony, the Aoyu fish lantern, which became famous online after its debut at the 15th National Games, once again drew everyone's attention. In addition, traditional light displays like banana leaves and kapok flowers, symbols of Guangzhou's urban history, made a spectacular comeback, enhanced with innovative lighting technology.

During the event, Guangzhou's transportation bureau has made adjustments to ensure smooth operations. Certain metro and bus lines have increased capacity, and relevant stations are implementing temporary passenger flow controls based on real-time conditions.
