Grassland music festival to be staged during National Day in Tianhe

The vibrant city of Guangzhou in South China's Guangdong province is set to come alive with music as the sixth Grassland Music Festival kicked off at Pearl River Park in Tianhe district on Sept 28.

This year's festival, running until Oct 8, promises a series of unforgettable nights, each with a unique theme, celebrating both the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Attendees will be treated to a theatrical music festival, which takes the audience on a journey through China's long history across several dynasties spanning centuries. The event features the premiere of the original theme song Love in the Pearl River Night, alongside performances of pipa (China's traditional four-stringed lute), erhu (a Chinese two-stringed fiddle), sword dances, and drama, providing an immersive historical experience.

On Oct 7, a martial arts-themed music show will take place at the Lawn Stage in the park, inviting attendees to relive the classic martial arts stories. New arrangements and live performances of classics will be featured, promising a night of martial arts dreams under the moonlight.

The festival will conclude on Oct 8 with classic masterpieces, iconic movie soundtracks, city ballads, and classic music. As the city's sounds and classic melodies fill the air, attendees will experience the beauty of Guangzhou through songs that capture the city's essence.

This public event is free of charge, and no prior registration is required. Attendees are advised to follow the guidance of staff for seating arrangements. In the event of high attendance, crowd control measures will be implemented.
