China's largest Pokémon gym opens in Tianhe
The official Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Gym has opened at the Grandview Plaza in Guangzhou's Tianhe district.
Spanning approximately 1,800 square meters, it is currently the largest of its kind in China. The venue features a distinctive blue-and-white design that creates a spacious "Trainer's Hall", housing comprehensive retail and battle areas.
The opening was marked by large-scale installations throughout the mall, including a 7-meter-tall Pikachu balloon model at the southeast gate, a giant Poké Ball at the northeast entrance, and a 7-meter-high Sprigatito figure in the central atrium. Indoors, suspended trading cards and multiple photo spots offer additional engagement opportunities.

The retail zone provides globally synchronized card products and exclusive merchandise, including first-release items, while the battle area serves as a strategic gameplay space for matches and future official events. The venue aims to attract younger consumers and support Guangzhou's development as an international consumption center.
