Preparations for the 15th National Games' opening ceremony have reached a new stage. On Sept 1, the first group of performers began rehearsing at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center, signifying an important milestone in the event's preparations.

Hundreds of performers, mostly representing various universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, dedicated approximately eight hours to refining intricate details. Their efforts focused on perfecting formations and ensuring precise synchronization of the musical components, demonstrating a high level of dedication and professionalism in their preparation.

Meng Ke, executive director overseeing the ceremony, emphasized the importance of indoor rehearsals as a vital preparatory stage, with full-sequence practice sessions where the entire program will be rehearsed in its entirety.

Liu Weiqiang, chief supervisor, underscored the significance of the performers as embodying the vitality, commitment, and youthful spirit of China. He further emphasized that all supporting services are structured around the core principles of simplicity, safety, and excellence, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for all involved.

As the first National Games to be jointly hosted by the regions of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the opening ceremony promises to be a momentous event that symbolizes regional cooperation and unity. The ceremony will feature a synchronized flag-raising ceremony across all three cities, scheduled to take place on Nov 9.

All performances have been finalized, and rehearsals are currently underway, progressing through multiple carefully planned phases to ensure optimal preparation. The event operations are being supported by dedicated teams responsible for transportation, security, catering, power supply, and medical assistance. These teams have provided comprehensive and coordinated support to guarantee execution and a high standard of efficiency throughout the opening ceremony.
