The Guangdong Huangcun Sports Training Center, located in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, is hosting two significant test events from Aug 18 to 31, in preparation for the 15th National Games.

The Modern Pentathlon Test Competition will take place from Aug 18 to 22 at the newly constructed Comprehensive Training Hall and the Running Shooting Range. The competition features two categories: the traditional modern pentathlon and the new modern pentathlon.

The traditional pentathlon comprises five events: equestrian, fencing, swimming, running, and shooting. In contrast, the modern pentathlon swaps out equestrian activities for an obstacle course.

Following this, from Aug 23 to 31, the Guangdong Shooting Range Hall will host the 2025 Guangdong Youth Shooting (Rifle and Pistol) Championship and the Shooting (Rifle and Pistol) Test Competition for the 15th National Games. This event will feature three categories across 48 events.

To accommodate the modern pentathlon events scheduled for Sept 20 to 25 during the 15th National Games, a new Comprehensive Training Hall has been constructed at the Guangdong Huangcun Sports Training Center. The facility covers a total area of approximately 19,500 square meters and stands 39 meters tall.

The Guangdong Shooting Range Hall, with a total area of approximately 19,300 sq m and a height of 21.5 meters, will host both the shooting events for the 15th National Games and the shooting competitions for the 12th National Paralympic Games and 9th National Special Olympics.
