Guangzhou, the capital of South China's Guangdong province, has launched its 2025 Nighttime Consumption Season, which will run throughout the second half of the year.

The event highlights the integration of commerce, tourism, culture, sports, and fitness, and the creation of nighttime consumption scenarios. A series of events will showcase Guangzhou's nighttime allure, supporting its goal of becoming an international consumption hub.

Fifteen metropolitan-level night market pioneering zones and major commercial districts and business complexes across the city will join the program, which offers hundreds of vibrant nighttime activities to create an immersive shopping experience for residents and tourists.

The Guangzhou International Light Festival, recognized alongside the Lyon and Sydney light festivals as one of the world's top three, will once again present a dazzling display of light art. Residents and tourists will be able to enjoy a lighting spectacle while visiting the night markets.

As the 15th National Games are approaching, Guangzhou is leveraging "sports + night economy" as a driving force by inviting sports brands to host pop-up events in the pioneering night market zones. The city has launched the sports consumption package in collaboration with financial platforms and sports venues.

Food remains the centerpiece of nighttime consumption. The International Food Festival, Gourmet Week, and Coffee Culture Festival will feature craft beer, barbecue, and light meals. The city will also host live music performances and nighttime concerts, fully embodying the cultural essence of "eating in Guangzhou" and creating a deep fusion of food, culture, and fashion in the city's nighttime consumption.

Activities like anime pop-ups and parades will take place in the night market pioneering zones.
