Tianhe hosts Ascend AI Inspire Day

The Ascend AI Inspire Day event recently took place at the Yangcheng Creative Industrial Park in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, capital of South China’s Guangdong province.

As the core engine of Guangzhou's AI industry, Tianhe leverages its strategic position in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and robust industrial foundation to drive AI innovation and integration.

The event gathered nearly 700 developers to explore cutting-edge AI technologies.

Wang Jing, head of Huawei's Ascend computing development department, shared updates on AI advancements, including upgraded software suites that enhance inference efficiency and reduce costs.

Professor Lu Lu from the South China University of Technology and Pang Jianyu from the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center discussed computational optimization and ophthalmic AI applications.

Ten Ascend-powered AI model all-in-one machines were launched for sectors like transportation and healthcare, witnessed by representatives from 10 leading enterprises in Guangdong, such as PCI Technology Group and GRG Banking.

The event also launched the South China division of the 2025 Ascend AI Innovation Competition, featuring a 200,000 yuan ($27,900) prize pool.

The same day, technical forums and interactive exhibitions also provided hands-on learning opportunities.

The event highlighted the collaborative efforts between Tianhe district and Ascend AI to advance AI development and drive industrial integration in the Greater Bay Area.
