Tianhe agri-museum wins national honor
The South China Agricultural Museum, located in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, was recently rated as a "national third-grade museum", the third highest classification for museums in China, as published by the China Museums Association.
The museum was opened to the public in September 2020. It covers a combined floor area of about 5,284 square meters and now boasts eight thematic exhibition halls like for traditional farm tools and plants, with a total of 4,621 pieces (sets) of collections.
Since its opening, it has received nearly 346,000 visitors.

The museum can be visited by prior arrangement.
Social individuals are able to schedule appointments to visit the museum by using the official WeChat account (ID: scauxmt) of South China Agricultural University. Visits are available for booking on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Non-profit social groups, with up to 50 people are eligible to secure a reservation at the museum through the completion and submission of the Social Group Visit Reservation Form. This form necessitates an official seal before being sent to the mailbox (nybwg@scau.edu.cn).
Reservations must be made within three to seven workdays in advance. Visits are scheduled to take place from Tuesdays to Sundays.
