The Jinan University Human Body Science Museum recently opened in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, becoming the first of its kind in the district.

The museum covers an area of some 400 square meters. It has four main exhibition areas, namely the Anatomy and Art exhibition area, the Jinan University's Medical History and Cultural exhibition area, the Body Structure exhibition area, and the Human Parasitology exhibition area.

It now displays 547 specimens.

The museum was built not only for teaching but also for the popularization of science. Many high-tech interactive systems, including the 2D/3D image and the AR/VR display systems, were equipped to make boring medical knowledge more interesting.

"We hope that the science museum can become a window to convey medical knowledge to children and the public so that people can better understand their bodies, reduce their fear of medicine, and let more people learn about the mystery and value of medical science," said Guo Guoqing, director of the Department of Anatomy, School of Medicine at Jinan University.
