Tianhe promotes culture through exhibitions

Guangzhou's Tianhe district has organized several exhibitions to promote local culture.

The exhibition on the Chinese classic drama Xi Xiang Ji, also known as Romance of the Western Chamber, is ongoing at the Guangdong Museum in Tianhe through Feb 25, 2024. Some 320 cultural relics are being exhibited, all of which show the change in views on marriage and love from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) to the Song (960-1279) and Yuan (1271-1368) dynasties. On the sixth floor of the Guangzhou International Commercial Center (Guangzhou ICC), a Journey to the West exhibition is being held through Jan 4, 2024. The exhibition displays paintings by Wang Shaoqiang, head of the Guangdong Museum of Art. The paintings were inspired by his field investigations in the western regions of China.
