Twenty-four lawyers were recently employed by the Tianhe bureau of market supervision and the Tianhe Consumer Council to form a public-welfare legal team to help with the protection of consumers' rights. It is the first of its kind in Guangzhou.

The legal team will take the initiative to conduct in-depth research in the markets and study legal disputes in new consumer scenarios and new business forms to provide professional consulting services for the Tianhe bureau of market supervision and the Tianhe Consumer Council, help improve the lawfulness of consumer complaint and dispute handling, and further enhance the satisfaction of consumer rights protection work.

It will also cooperate with industry associations, media platforms and social organizations to jointly build a public-welfare consumer rights protection platform and improve a diversified mechanism for resolving consumer disputes.
