Construction on the Kezhu-Kelin Road Tunnel's auxiliary lanes and sidewalks, as well as afforestation work, was recently completed.

It marked the point when the whole tunnel – a new channel linking the districts of Tianhe and Huangpu districts in South China's Guangzhou city – was opened to traffic.

The completion of the tunnel is also seen as being of great significance to promoting the economic and social development in the eastern part of Guangzhou.
