Green concepts have been integrated into the management process of buildings across Guangzhou's Tianhe district. Various measures have also been implemented to accelerate the high-quality development of green and low-carbon construction.

At the Guangzhou International Commercial Center (Guangzhou ICC), which was put into operation in September 2021, high-performance equipment was used to save energy and reduce carbon emission. Through this, the center reduced refrigeration redundancy by about 11 percent and the total utilized power of air conditioning by 54 percent.

Some old buildings in Tianhe are also undergoing green and low-carbon transformation. The TEEMALL building, which was put into use in 2005, has been continuously updating its software and facilities in recent years. Its new VAV air conditioning system is capable of conducting self-maintenance, and hence it has a longer service life.

The R&F To-Win Building is connected to the centralized cooling system of Zhujiang New Town, which is good for environmental protection. It also realizes zero emission of ozone-destroying substances.

A farm area has been developed on the 70th floor of the Yuexiu Financial Tower to provide opportunities for enterprises in the building to grow crops. The terrace on the third floor of Taikoo Hui was also transformed into a vegetable garden to promote urban farming and environmental protection.
