Four universities in Guangzhou's Tianhe district have made the list of China's top 100 institutes of higher learning in 2023. The list was recently released by Shanghai Ranking, a professional evaluation institution for higher education.

A total of eight universities in Guangdong province made the list. The four from Tianhe are: South China University of Technology, Jinan University, South China Normal University, and South China Agricultural University.
