The project starts at Haizhu's Xingang East Road in the south and ends at the intersection of Tianhe's Huangpu Avenue. It spans a total length of nearly 2,070 meters, of which the tunnel accounts for 1,547 meters. The tunnel provides three lanes in each direction and has a speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour.
The tunnel connects Chebei South Road in Tianhe to the surroundings of Guangzhou InterContinental Hotel in Haizhu. It will cut driving time from the current 15 to 30 minutes to two to five minutes.
