Healthy Tianhe 2030 plan seeks for opinions
To promote the rational allocation of medical and health resources and establish a high-quality and efficient medical and health service system, Tianhe district proposed the "Healthy Tianhe 2030" plan and is now seeking opinions from the public.
According to the plan, Tianhe will become a model healthy city by 2030.
The district will build and improve public health committees at the district, neighborhood, and community levels to further strengthen the prevention and control of major diseases in the district.
It will explore the establishment of a resident health point system in which points will be awarded to those who participate in community health services like contracted family doctors and can be used to claim a prize. By 2030, the district will strive to have at least one health promotion instructor for every 1,000 people.
Safety equipment such as automatic external defibrillators will be provided in crowded public places, and first-aid medicine and facilities will be provided in schools, government agencies, enterprises and public institutions by 2030.

Tianhe will also plan public fitness facilities. All newly-built residential areas are expected to have their own public fitness facility by 2025.
The district also plans to build 10 3A-grade hospitals by 2030 and add 7,400 patient beds, advance the construction of the Second People's Hospital of Tianhe District, prepare for the construction of a 3A-grade hospital featuring intelligent medical treatment, and focus on the development of gastroenterology, maternal and child hygiene, and reproductive medicine.
It will also boost the development of the smart health industry, and support the use of smart technologies to carry out new-type health management services such as online health education, psychological counseling, and online diagnosis and treatment.
The development and construction of a life science industrial park will be also promoted, relying on the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center.
Tianhe will improve the health service system for children to provide them with services in physiology, psychology, sexual and reproductive health, exercise, and nutrition.
It will take measures to ensure that students have at least one hour of physical activity per day on campus. By 2030, sports facilities and equipment in schools will fully meet national standards.
