The Torch Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Sciences and Technology recently conducted the 2020 annual evaluation of 1,287 national high-tech business incubators.

As part of the evaluation, 19 national high-tech business incubators in Guangzhou were rated as excellent, of which seven are in Tianhe district, accounting for over one third of the city's total.

The seven incubators include the Guangzhou High-tech Entrepreneurship Service Center, the Guangdong Institute of Modern Agricultural Equipment, and Guangzhou Letian Enterprise Management.

High-tech business incubators refer to service organizations intended to cultivate and support high-tech small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

They can provide physical space and infrastructure as well as services for SMEs to help them reduce costs, support the growth of technology-based SMEs, and promote the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
