Projects in Tianhe received 10 of the 2020 State Science and Technology Awards, including two second-place prizes in the State Natural Science Awards category.

Other awards include two second-place prizes in the State Technological Invention Awards category and six prizes in the State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards category, the national office for the awards announced on Nov 3 in Beijing.

Organized by the State Council, the State Science and Technology Awards represent the nation's highest honor in science and technology, and aim to recognize individuals and organizations who have made remarkable contributions in these areas.

The award-winning projects in Tianhe focus on the fields of life health, information technology, and intelligent manufacturing, all of which are key priority industries in the district.
