Tianhe CBD expands intl market for service trade
Since being approved as a national digital service export base, the Tianhe central business district (CBD) has been devoted to introducing service trade companies and key projects, according to Yuan Xiaowen, executive deputy director of the Tianhe CBD management committee who spoke at a press conference in Guangzhou on Sept 23.
The Tianhe CBD is one of the three major CBDs in China. In 2020, its GDP exceeded 300 billion yuan ($46.48 billion). There are currently 124 business office buildings in the Tianhe CBD, with a total combined floorage of more than 14 million square meters. Among them, 71 buildings have an annual tax revenue of over 100 million yuan and 17 have an annual tax revenue of over 1 billion yuan. It now has 120 headquarters enterprises and 216 licensed financial institutions.
In June and September, Tianhe exhibited itself at the China International Digital and Software Service Fair and the China International Fair for Trade in Services to promote its superior business environment.
As Guangzhou's 85 percent of foreign consular offices and 97 percent of foreign banks are located in the Tianhe CBD, the district was elected as the vice president unit of the Global Business Districts Innovation Club and has organized companies to participate in exhibitions abroad like the Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai.
The Tianhe CBD would accelerate the construction of the development of the major digital economy platforms and facilitate the integration of the digital trade markets in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Yuan added.
