The first industrial park garbage sorting demonstration site in Guangzhou was recently put into operation at the Zhihui Park Zhaolian Yuangang Creative Industrial Park in Tianhe district.

The industrial park is equipped with household garbage sorting facilities, temporary storage points, and collection and transportation stations, according to a person in charge at the district's urban management bureau.

Underground garbage cans are used in the industrial park. Since the garbage cans are underground, they can play a positive role in improving the surrounding environment, reducing odor and preventing mosquitoes, the person in charge said.

A face recognition device is also installed at the garbage drop site. Administrators can activate the device through the face recognition system, and operate the lifting of the underground garbage cans by using a touch screen. Other people can also carry out identity authentication through the face recognition system and record their household garbage classification data.

A sanitation station and the resource recycling station are also set up in the industrial park, which integrates functions like sanitation materials storage, renewable resources recycling, and garbage sorting knowledge publicity.
