Six self-driving bus lines will be opened in six areas in Guangzhou, of which Zhujiang New Town and Tianhe Software Park in Tianhe district are two of those lines.

This was put forward by the self-driving line project operation plan of Guangzhou Public Transport Group that was approved at an executive meeting by the Guangzhou municipal government on Sept 1. The project will become the largest demonstration operation project for intelligent connected vehicles in China.

The six self-driving bus lines will be opened in stages, and will be equipped with 50 autonomous vehicles in total.
