Thanks to its improved business environment and comprehensive incentives, Tianhe has become a magnet for young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions (SARs).

To better serve start-ups, the Hong Kong and Macao Youth Association Headquarters was set up in Tianhe in 2019, the first of its kind in Guangdong province.

"Tianhe is striving to follow the development direction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and meet the needs of people from Hong Kong and Macao," said Lin Huibin, director of the youth association.

The center, with an area of about 2,500 square meters, provides one-stop services for business incubation, public service, demonstration and communication. It also hosts activities organized by associations for young people from Hong Kong and Macao.

Located in the bustling Tianhe Road business area, the hub is decorated with signboards featuring elements of Hong Kong and Macao, making the young people feel more at home.

There are live broadcasting rooms and enterprise training courses at the headquarters that help young people realize their business goals.

Liu Min, a young entrepreneur from Macao, has benefited a lot from the youth association.

In 2019, Liu noticed the association’s logo while passing by a metro station. It was thanks to this chance encounter that she decided to settle down and register her network technology company in Tianhe.

“Before, it was like crossing a river by feeling the stones, but now we get lots of support from the government and the youth association, which makes the process of starting a business much smoother,” Liu said.

The cluster of similar start-up bases in Tianhe serving young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao has helped 185 new firms and more than 10,000 young people from the two SARs to reside in Guangzhou city.
