Foreign businesspeople in Guangzhou praise local investment environment
Our latest investment in Guangzhou is in P&G's China Intelligent Technology Innovation Center. The project will explore technical breakthroughs in the supply chain, investigating the deep integration of advanced manufacturing and technological innovation.
Guangzhou is at the forefront of China's reform and opening-up. It is a leader in market development and advanced supply chain, and also boasts geographical advantages. Guangzhou has a world-class business environment, thanks especially to the services the government provides to enterprises. Its supportive business policies are all very impressive. The constructive and mutually beneficial government-business relationships give the city a unique appeal to global investors.

In November last year, Astra-Zeneca signed an investment agreement with the Guangzhou Development District to locate the company's South China headquarters on Guangzhou International Biological Island.
Guangzhou has a superior geographical location and business environment as well as a deep talent pool. All of the aforementioned qualities are strong attractions for enterprises. The establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area provides the city with powerful resources to build on the Bay Area's economic development and brings more opportunities for the local development of enterprises. AstraZeneca's choice to set up its southern headquarters in Guangzhou is of great significance in further expanding and strengthening the South China market.

Guangzhou is the headquarters of Amway China. In recent years, we have transferred global production to and increased the capacity of the Guangzhou factory. Its current output value accounts for 40 percent of the total output value of Amway's global supply chain.
This year, we will build and expand multiple production lines, and continue to play a pivotal role as a multinational company in China to improve the country's dual-circulation development pattern.
The Guangzhou Development District has allowed us to understand just how pragmatic, caring and service-oriented the local government is. Those qualities were vital in our decision to settle in Guangzhou. In the past 30 years, we have witnessed the continuous upgrading of Guangzhou's hardware and software assets and had a front-row seat to the improvement of Guangzhou's business environment.
Frances Yu, president of Amway China
We are very grateful to the local government for its efforts to improve the business environment. Our company was set up in 1998 with a power transformer plant in the east area of the Guangzhou Development District and has since had the strong support of the local government. With a new distribution transformer factory to become operational soon, we will become a leader in the transformer industry. The government has also promoted the "trust-based preparation" policy, helping us implement the new distribution transformer project. The preparatory work such as land-clearing, earthwork and outbound transportation was completed within two months before the project began construction.
