Tianhe district reported that an international inbound traveler has tested positive for COVID-19. The patient was in his fourth day of home-quarantining and health monitoring after being released from a centralized quarantine facility.
In order to improve the control and prevention work and protect the health and safety of the public, tighter control and prevention measures will be enforced as follows.
Passengers flying to Guangzhou from key domestic regions from 6:00am on August 6th shall have their "negative PCR test report within 48 hours" (in addition to their green health code and temperature) inspected upon arrival at the Baiyun International Airport. Those without a PCR test report shall take a PCR test on site.
Zhuhai and Macao authorities have decided that apart from drivers of lorries or trucks delivering essential goods between the two cities, from 6 a.m. August 4th, all people crossing the border must produce proof of a negative nucleic acid test issued within 12 hours.
To protect the health of citizens and consolidate the hard-won achievements on COVID-19 prevention and control in Guangzhou, the Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention now solemnly reminds all citizens of the following.
The recent COVID-19 outbreak has already rapidly spread to 35 cities and 15 provinces in China. It now poses a grave challenge to our domestic epidemic control efforts.
