Guangzhou's Panyu district held the 2023 Government-Enterprise Development Forum on Jan 10, focusing on promoting high-quality development in its business environment.

Located at the geographical center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Panyu has long been a favored development location for innovators and investors. 

In 2022, the output value of Panyu's automobile manufacturing industry exceeded 100 billion yuan ($14.93 billion) for the first time, marking the "birth" of a high-quality automobile industry cluster. The proportion of the district's R&D expenditure in GDP also exceeded 3 percent for the first time in 2022, reaching 3.1 percent.

Panyu district has been fully committed to promoting investment services. To date, 18 projects have been started within the district, such as the SIMCom Headquarters and the Suzhou Zhihua projects, with a total investment of about 19.2 billion yuan and an estimated annual output value of about 36.6 billion yuan.

Panyu district has also been driven to reach high standards in the service industry. There are 11 Smart Government Halls under its jurisdiction. The district is the first in the country to launch a 5G+VR government hub and has built a national integrated government sharing platform to provide remote "face-to-face" government services for enterprises and the public.
