The overall customs clearance time for imported and exported goods in Guangzhou reached 12.56 hours and 0.81 hours respectively in June, which were 84.92 percent and 92.82 percent faster than those in 2017.
Guangzhou Customs has devoted great efforts to making cross-border trade more convenient, boosting the recovery of foreign trade.
More than 90 percent of companies exporting products under Guangzhou Customs have now applied the operation model of making declarations in advance so that their cargo can immediately pass customs upon arriving, greatly improving logistics operation efficiency.
Guangzhou Customs has made full use of advanced technologies, such as augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and big data, to establish an around-the-clock smart clearance system.
Companies managing imports and exports under Guangzhou Customs have seen a tariff preference of 3.18 billion yuan ($454.11 million) in the first half of 2020 under free trade agreements.
In addition, Guangzhou Customs has issued a total of 120,000 certificates of origin (COO) for exported goods like home appliances, steel products, textile clothing, and footwear products, covering an overall value of $4.72 billion.
