The import and export value under the Guangzhou Customs' cross-border e-commerce management platforms amounted to 17.52 billion yuan ($2.51 billion) in the first half of 2020, Nanfang Plus reported on July 17.
The total has accounted for about 20 percent of the total volume of China's 105 cross-border e-commerce demonstration zones and ranked first in China.
Guangzhou's platforms, which are the most important public service platforms for cross-border e-commerce in the South China area, has provided convenient clearance services at all ports in Guangzhou, as well as 44 other ports in areas near Guangzhou.
The products imported from the platforms have covered almost all the provinces and cities in China, while the products exported have reached a consumer group of more than 30 million in 208 countries and regions around the world.
The import and export orders through the platforms have reached more than 92 million in the first half of 2020, with orders from 11 consumers passing clearance per second on average.
Guangzhou has released several measures to boost the development of cross-border e-commerce in recent years, offering more policy support for companies and improving its business environment.
Currently, Guangzhou has clustered a batch of outstanding companies managing cross-border e-commerce like Tmall Global, NetEase Kaola, and JD.com.
