Guangzhou entices innovative talents

Guangzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau issued new incentive policies on July 18, in order to encourage the introduction of more high-calibre talents to the city.

Human resources organizations can now be rewarded 500,000 yuan ($74,000) for introducing a Nobel Laureate, a science and technology award winner, or an academician from China or developed countries. There are also rewards ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 yuan if those introduced talents are recognized as outstanding experts or excellent back-up talents in two years. The bonus will be paid in two equal instalments after two and five years respectively.

Guangzhou will sponsor 50 senior management staff with at most 500,000 yuan to attend trainings in key colleges and universities, as well as reputable human resource services organizations.

The new policies also support innovation of HR agencies. Organizations will be rewarded 200,000 yuan for getting an invention patent authorization and bringing about economic benefits in the field in the past three years. Those rated as high and new technology enterprises can get a 200,000 yuan bonus. For newly-established or newly-introduced HR organizations, the government will cover 50 percent or 100,000 yuan site rental up to 3 years.
