A special event was held in Panyu district, Guangzhou, to attract investment from Cisco Greater China partners, a multinational technology firm partnered with the Guangdong capital to build a model smart city.
Held at Chimelong International Convention and Exhibition Center on Jan 4, the promotion was sponsored by the Industry and Information Technology Commission of Guangzhou and Panyu district government.
More than 600 people including Zhou Yawei, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Guangzhou Committee, He Rucheng, secretary of CPC Panyu district committee, Zhao Junming, director of the Industry and Information Technology Commission of Guangzhou, Owen Chan, president and CEO of CISCO Greater China, and Danffer Ni, senior deputy president of CISCO, attended the meeting.
Cisco will settle in Guangzhou's Panyu district and help the city develop technology related to internet of things (IoT), as well as create an IoT cloud platform to serve industry.
Zhou said that Guangzhou will continue to offer efficient and convenient governmental services, accelerate its construction of supportive infrastructure, and energetically support the project.
