GBA university soccer tournament kicks off in Nansha

On Oct 25 and 26, the 2025 "Tunan Cup" Greater Bay Area University Soccer Tournament, hosted by Nansha district, took place at the Hengli Citizens' Sports Park and the Guangzhou ULink International School (GUIS) soccer fields.

The event brought together students from eight universities across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, using sports as a bridge to promote youth exchange and foster talent collaboration.

The tournament followed the 11-a-side competition rules, featuring 16 intense matches over two days.

In a thrilling final, the South China Normal University emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over Guangzhou City University of Technology, claiming the championship title. Guangdong University of Foreign Studies secured third place after a nail-biting penalty shootout.

After the tournament, Hu Chen, a representative from the City University of Macau team, expressed his gratitude, "Competing with top players from various schools in the Greater Bay Area not only brought us honor but also allowed us to make like-minded friends".

Hu also said he was looking forward to future opportunities in Nansha.
