Star-studded lineup announced for 2025 Guangzhou Intl Women's Open

The 2025 Guangzhou International Women's Open (GWO) will be held from Oct 19 to 26 at the Nansha International Tennis Center in Guangzhou. This marks the third consecutive year the tournament has taken place in Nansha.

The event features top players including Katerina Siniakova, a women's doubles Golden Grand Slam winner, current world No 1, and 10-time Grand Slam doubles champion with an Olympic gold. She has close ties to GWO, winning last year's doubles title with Zhang Shuai. Also competing is Donna Vekic from Croatia, the Paris Olympics silver medalist, debuting at GWO with high expectations from Chinese fans. Players also include Germany's Tatjana Maria and Poland's Magdalena Frech.

On the Chinese side, Zhu Lin and Wang Yafan will return to the tournament using their Special Ranking protection, aiming to deliver their best performances. Yuan Yue, Zhang Shuai, Wang Xinyu, and others are also on the alternate list and may compete.

As a WTA250 event with a total prize money of $275,000, the tournament has introduced fan-friendly ticket options: free entry for the qualifying rounds on Oct 19 and an affordable 38 yuan ($5.34) outer court ticket for Oct 20–24, allowing access to all non-center court matches and training sessions.
