The Greater Bay Area Cultural and Sports Center in Guangzhou's Nansha district is set to host its first events this month.

This state-of-the-art waterfront complex features a remarkable architectural highlight – a 150-meter-wide "sea-view window" in its main stadium, offering spectacular views of the Lingdingyang waters as spectators watch live sports.

The world-class complex features three separate venues: a main stadium with 60,000 seats, shaped like a traditional folding fan; a flexible 20,000-capacity arena that can quickly switch between basketball, ice hockey, and over 20 other sports; and a 4,000-seat aquatic center with Olympic-grade swimming and diving pools. The design thoughtfully integrates unique Lingnan cultural motifs, uses eco-friendly materials, and employs specialized lighting to reduce impact on migrating birds.

Strategically positioned at the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the center boasts excellent accessibility, connecting all key regional cities within 60 minutes. In August, it will host three showcase competitions, including the Guangdong Provincial Football Super League. The complex also plans to open public fitness facilities for local communities, expanding its role beyond professional sports.

Managed by China Resources' experienced venue operations team, this multifunctional development aims to become a lively hub that hosts top-tier sports events, entertainment, and leisure activities. It will serve as a dynamic platform to promote greater regional integration within the Greater Bay Area.
